Kohli and ABD – Kohli and de Villiers are one of the best players in the IPL.  If one of the 2 get going they can win matches on their own.

Chahal: Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the best bowlers for RCB and is a real match winner in the IPL capable of picking wickets and also bowling economically, last season he was RCB’s most economical bowler.

Pace attack – RCB have Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mohammed Siraj as their front-line pacers. To assist them there is the domestic sensation Navdeep Saini and the left arm bowler Khejroliya.

Indian Batsmen – Apart from Kohli RCB lack Indian batsman who can make the difference Parthiv Patel is experienced but is not known for big scores, while apart from Kohli and Parthiv, Gurkeerat Mann is the next highest scorer in IPL for RCB which tells you about their Indian contingent.

Lack of support to Chahal – Chahal lacked support last season, Washington Sundar struggled last season managing just 4 wickets and conceding at an economy of 9.60 while Negi also struggled to stop the flow of runs conceding at an economy of 12.25 picking just 1 wicket.

Opportunities Threats
Pace Attack –Pace Attack has been RCB’s achilles heel for some seasons now, this season on paper they have a strong looking bowling attack consisting of Yadav, Coulter Nile and Siraj, they have a chance to prove their worth and support Kohli and ABD.

Ending the wait – RCB have been finalists in 2009, 2011 & 2016, but haven’t tastes ultimate glory: Will 2019 be the year they finally break their drought?

Not playing to potential – RCB have enough individual matchwinners within their team, but that isn’t a recipe for success: It’s been the case with RCB for a while now.

Two-faced pitch – RCB’s strategy of having explosive batsmen may well backfire given the 180o turn in character of the M. Chinnaswamy pitch in the last 2 seasons. It remains to be seen whether the surface will suit free-flowing stroke play or a more circumspect approach.
