Let’s have a look at the SWOT analysis of Haryana Steelers

Strengths:

Vikash Khandola

Threatening Raiding Unit: One of the best raiding units of Pro Kabaddi Season 7 in Vikash Khandola, Rohit Gulia, Vinay and upcoming star Meetu Sharma. Each of the 4 if they click have the capability to single handily win the match for their team.

Weakness:

Inexperienced Left cover and Right Corner:

Haryana will rely on Yash and Jaideep to fulfill the key defensive positions of Right corner and left cover, while both are clearly talented but they both lack the experience of playing PKL and senior level tournaments. How they both cope up to the rigors of PKL will be the key to the Steeler’s fortunes in PKL 8.

Opportunities:

Chance for Meetu and Jaideep to announce themselves as stars:

No player has generated the buzz and excitement before PKL that Meetu Sharma has created, the young raider is arguably a star even before a minute of PKL is played. Meetu has a chance to establish his status as one of the best raiders of PKL 8. Same is the case with Jaideep who is hailed as the next big thing in Kabaddi, the left cover defender has a chance to announce himself on the big stage.

Threats:

Ageing Surender Nada:

Surender Nada

Haryana are relying on experienced Surender Nada to lead their defence and man the left corner position. However, the left corner hasn’t played PKL since the first match of PKL 6 and has also not impressed in the domestic tournaments that he has played in. The former Haryana Steelers and U Mumba defender also lost his place in the Haryana state team. If Nada struggles, then Haryana are likely to have a tough time in stopping opposition raiders.

Injury Concerns to Meetu and Vikash Khandola:

Meetu suffered a dislocated elbow while playing K7 tournament while Vikash also recently recovered from an elbow fracture and was not his usual self in the recently concluded Senior nationals.
