Pankaj Mohite outshined big names like Nitin Tomar and Manjeet in PKL 7, the young raider despite the presence of big names like Rahul Chaudhari and Nitin Tomar will carry the biggest threat for the Paltans. The 21-year-old has all the attributes and skills to emerge as the next big superstar of PKL.
Strong Corner Combination:
In PKL 7 Pune struggled with their corners, they have rectified the issue by bringing Himachal duo Vishal Bhardwaj and Baldev Singh. Vishal has already established himself as one of the best left corners in the league while Baldev had a breakthrough PKL 7 with Bengal Warriors wherein he was arguably the best right corner. Both already share a semblance of understanding having played together for Himachal in the Senior Nationals for around 3 years now.
Pune have placed their faith for the cover position on their young cover duo of Jadhav Balasaheb and Sanket Sawant, while the duo are talented but so far have failed to translate their potential into consistency. The duo have played A Grade tournaments but struggled for consistency in those tournaments.
Rahul Chaudhari/ Nitin Tomar:
Poster boy of Kabaddi Rahul Chaudhari’s stock is continuously falling since PKL 5 and last year with Tamil Thalaivas was a real struggle for the “Showman”. PKL 8 offers him a chance to prove that he still belongs among the elite raiders in the league. His Uttar Pradesh teammate Nitin Tomar has struggled for fitness in PKL 7, PKL 8 offers him a chance to demonstrate his class and prove that he is still a game changing raider he was before his injury.
Form of Baldev Singh:
Baldev Singh struggled in the recently concluded Senior Nationals and also the Gotegaon tournament, if Baldev’s struggle continues then Pune who already have a couple of youngsters in their defence will have a headache to solve, the good thing for them is that they have an able replacement in Sombir to take his place.
