Puneri Paltan’s first choice right corner Satpal suffered an ACL tear ruling him out for the season. Air India defender Shubham Shinde will line up as the right corner for Pune.
Right In: Pawan Kadian: The tall Pawan Kadian has some competition from Darshan Kadian for the role of the 3rd raider but Pawan is expected to get the nod due to his unusual raiding style and experience.
Right Cover: Surjeet: Surjeet had an underwhelming campaign with Bengal Warriors in Pro Kabaddi Season 6 but Surjeet is still one of the best right covers in the game and will look to prove his class with Pune.
Centre: Nitin Tomar: 
Nitin Tomar’s impact can be gauged by the fact that after his injury Puneri Paltan completely struggled with their raiding and failed to make the play-offs for the first time since PKL 3. Tomar’s fitness will be the key for Paltan.
Left Cover: Sandeep: Sandeep didn’t get a lot of game time in Pro Kabaddi Season 6 due to inexperience and fitness concerns. The short and stocky defender will start at left cover for Pune.
Left In: Manjeet: The tall Manjeet impressed in his debut season with Patna Pirates with his speed and reach. Along with Nitin Tomar he will make a deadly double act for the Paltan in PKL 6.
Left Corner: Girish Ernak: Girish Ernak struggled with fitness concerns in Pro Kabaddi Season 6 but still was Puneri Paltan’s best defender. The Maharashtrian will start as the left corner for Pune and will be one of their key men.
